On Saturday, May 25, the 2018/19 Victory Medallist will be crowned at our annual awards night at Crown’s Palladium.

This prestigious event, presented by Bluestar Global Logistics, will include presentations of awards of excellence for Victory’s Hyundai A-League and National Youth League teams.

In the first of a two-part series, we take a look at some of the contenders for this year’s award…

Leigh Broxham

Apps: 24

Assists: 1

Victory’s longest-serving player has been an integral part of the defensive unit this season. The 31-year-old has performed consistently in every position that he has been asked to play and has stepped up to captain the side on numerous occasions. 

 

Terry Antonis

Apps: 22
Goals: 4
Assists: 5

Antonis scored three goals in five appearances during the early stages of the season.

The midfielder has been at the heart of some of Victory’s neatest transitions, often turning defence into attack.

 

Keisuke Honda

Apps: 16
Goals: 7
Assists: 5

Honda has effortlessly covered every blade of grass during his Victory appearances so far this season. Honda scored 28 minutes into his Victory debut in Round 1 – a well-taken header against Melbourne City.

James Troisi

Apps: 24
Goals: 5
Assists: 8

Victory’s playmaker found form in Round 13, scoring four goals in five appearances. Troisi has also assisted eight goals this season – more than any other player in the Hyundai A-League.
